Meet the Team

Jessica Woodward

Rachel Cadrin

Jessica Woodward is a Doctor of Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbalist, sound healing student/practitioner, 300 hour yoga instructor, certified personal trainer and sports nutritionist. Jessica is the owner of an Acupuncture clinic in Calgary called Botanical Point and she co-created Soul Revival Retreats with Rachel in 2019.

Jessica’s fascination with movement and the human body began in Junior High when she joined her schools Cheerleading Team. Due to Jessica’s tiny stature, she was immediately thrown to the top of all the pyramids, and she continued to twist and flip high in the air for the next 12 years of her life. She cheered with Victoria Composite Co-Ed Team, the Edmonton Eskimo Cheer Team and level 6 of Perfect Storm Athletics. She was able to travel and compete in Vancouver, Washington, Florida, California, Hawaii and during her last year of cheer her team won 1st place in Canada and 5th in the world at Cheerleading Worlds in Florida.

Cheerleading was never a career, but it served as an escape from the early trauma she was always trying to ignore. When Jessica retired from cheer the feelings she had tried to avoid began to surface and she yearned for her next journey. And what a journey it was.

In 2015 she signed up for Yoga Teacher Training, interested in learning more about spirituality and the ego. This course also unintentionally blossomed her interest in anatomy and physiology which guided her to sign up for a Bachelor of Science. It was during her Bachelor studies she enrolled in an Ancient Medicine class.  This class focused on the concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which immediately captivated Jessica. Two days into the course she purchased a TCM philosophy book written by two of the foremost American educators and healers in the Chinese medical profession, Between Heaven and Earth by Harriet Beinfield and Efrem Korngold. After reading the book, Jessica knew this was her calling, and she registered herself into a 4 year TCM course in Nelson, BC.

Jessica’s education has not only taught her how to treat physical conditions, but also how to treat from the inside – how emotions can affect how our bodies function. It was through her educational journey that Jessica was able to heal herself (physically and emotionally), and now she is very passionate about sharing her knowledge and implementing different tools from both Eastern Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine to provide healing to those searching for resolve.

Rachel Cadrin is a certified Canadian Counsellor and Art Therapist practicing in Calgary, Ab. She is a 500 hour E-RYT, 200 hour YACEP, 85 hour RPYT, Advanced Yoga Nidra instructor, and Buti Yoga Master Trainer. Rachel is certified as a Merge Level II Practitioner, a movement practice that focuses on the fascial planes of the body to facilitate functional movement. She provides Ayurvedic coaching in addition to meditation and somatic release. She is the owner of Whole Soul Healing specializing in healing and connecting to one's body, mind and spirit.

Rachel's childhood was spent in the dance studio, and it was in the studio that her love of movement was formed. Throughout her life Rachel turned to movement as a way to heal and process life's experiences. At 16 she had her first knee surgery and was presented with the opportunity to sit with all of her feelings and experiences which provided her with a great deal of insight and an appreciation for stillness. As part of her healing journey she found yoga, and her life was forever changed. Yoga provided her with the space to reflect, to move in a way that honoured her body, and to connect to her higher Self. Yoga allowed her to find safety in herself. The more immersed Rachel became in yoga the more she felt called to expand her healing journey and she embarked on a Masters in Counselling Psychology and art therapy.

Rachel now works as a Counsellor, art therapist, and yoga instructor in Calgary, AB. She is always learning and taking different courses. When she isn't teaching yoga, planning a retreat or event, or working one on one with clients Rachel can be found going on hikes, paddle boarding, snuggling with her puppies, coloring or reading. The work Rachel does with Soul Revival Retreats is her greatest passion and fills her heart and soul. She is deeply honoured to walk this path and holds all that walk their healing path with the highest regard.
